International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on 8th March to recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. A reminder to celebrate women's progress and to call for gender equality and women's rights. Since 1909 in New York, it has become a global event celebrated in many countries around the world, recognising the contributions that women make to our society.
There were approximately just 1-2% of HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) drivers in the UK who identified as female, according to a report by the UK government in June 2021. At Springbridge we have drivers Aniko and Justyna who make up team of fifteen women working across the business in Accounts, Marketing, Transport, Sales and Operations.
