The summer month of June brings longer, drier and sunnier days so it is essential that you water your flowers, vegetables, fruit in containers regularly.
Summer is finally here and with the 21st June being the longest day of the year - the extra daylight and warmth will help encourage a burst of growth in your outdoor spaces.
Here are a few planting tips which we hope you find useful for keeping up with your outdoor activities.
Keep it classic with warm-weather flowers such as Geraniums and cheerful Marigolds which are ideal for hotter, drier summer days.
For herbs a Lemon Verbena plant will bring a beautiful, sweet, citrusy aroma to your garden whilst you are out enjoying the sunshine.
For a more modern feel Sedums provide attractive fleshy green-grey foliage which later takes on shades of pink. Butterflies & bees love them and being perennials, they come back year after year. They will need well-drained soil that is rich in organic amendments here.
For fruit and vegetables you can now harvest and enjoy, both seeing and tasting the 'fruits of your labour' from earlier in the year.
