At Springbridge Group, our materials are used across a wide range of projects, from residential gardens and landscaping schemes to commercial developments and public spaces. Occasionally, however, a delivery takes us somewhere a little more unusual.
In May 2026, we supplied 10 bulk bags of Pine Play Grade Bark to Crocodiles of the World, the UK's only crocodile zoo, located in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.
Supporting Animal Enclosures
Crocodiles of the World is home to more than 150 crocodilians across 19 different species, including crocodiles, alligators and caimans. The zoo plays an important role in conservation, education and breeding programmes, helping to protect several endangered and vulnerable species.
The zoo uses our Pine Play Grade Bark throughout a number of its animal enclosures to help create and maintain natural habitat areas for its residents.
Manufactured from high quality FSC-certified pine bark and consisting of a certified 35–60mm particle size, Pine Play Grade Bark offers a natural appearance and long-lasting finish, making it suitable for a variety of specialist applications beyond traditional landscaping and play areas.

A Long-Term Customer Relationship
This was not the first delivery we have made to the zoo. Crocodiles of the World has been purchasing materials from Springbridge since 2023 and had already ordered additional bark earlier this year.
We value long-term relationships with our customers and always enjoy seeing the different ways our products are used across a variety of industries and environments.
Delivering the Materials
The order consisted of 10 bulk bags of Pine Play Grade Bark, delivered using one of our 8 wheeler flatbed vehicles fitted with a crane.
The crane-equipped vehicle allowed the bags to be safely and efficiently unloaded on site, helping the zoo team quickly position and distribute the materials where they were needed.

About Pine Play Grade Bark
Our Pine Play Grade Bark is manufactured from FSC-certified pine bark and is commonly used in children's play areas, parks, schools, landscaping schemes, beds and borders where appearance is important.
The product is certified to BS EN 1177:2008 and BS EN 4790:1997 standards and provides an attractive, natural finish that performs well in both public and private environments.

Looking Ahead
Supplying materials to Crocodiles of the World is a great example of how landscaping products can be used in unique environments outside of traditional construction and garden projects.
We are proud to continue supporting the team and look forward to working with them again in the future.
