The Springbridge team has been making the headlines, with news of our continued investment into heavyweight fleets circulating the internet in the logistics and transportation press.

As IVECO Dealerships, design and manufacturer of a range of commercial vehicles, reports, we’ve been investing in one of the UK’s first new IVECO X-WAYS.

IVECO X-WAYS combine comfortable on-road driving with off-road robustness – the perfect solution for those “off-the-beaten-track” deliveries.

Described as “one of the leading suppliers of turf in the south of England,” the report notes how we currently run 19 heavy trucks, 18 of which are IVECO.

The new IVECO X-WAY is the first of a new generation of IVECOs to arrive, but with a few notable differences designed to provide easier access to a wider variety of locations, both business and private.

Also quick to jump on the news was AggNet, the online information service for the UK aggregates and related heavy construction industries. The article explains how Springbridge Direct, “a FORS Gold accreditation” mandates fitment of a full suite of safety equipment, and how the new truck is fully complemented by under-run protection bars, illuminated cyclist warning boards, audible turn warnings, a side-scan system and 360-degree cameras.

ITT Hub,Net, providers of news, opinion and insight into innovation and technology in road-based transport, also featured the report, which quotes our own Operations Director, John Keating, commenting: “What brought us to the IVECO brand was the value for money, buying ex-Clancy Docwra Trakkers about 15 years ago. In 2016, we were after some brand-new trucks, and they introduced us to Andrew Smith at Northern Commercials who I’ve been dealing with since. I haven’t bought any new trucks from anyone else since.

“Our latest IVECO X-WAY looks very smart and has a fantastic payload too, near-on 20-tonnes! Northern give a great level of service and offer very good back-up support,” Keating added.

The news was also featured in Logistics Voices, specialists in digital news serving the logistics industry. In the report, Gareth Lumsdaine, IVECO UK Heavy Business-line Director, alludes to the comfort yet robustness of the new range being perfect for Springbridge’s requirements:

“Taking the best of the new WAY range and adding in extra toughness, IVECO X-WAY makes for a comfortable, reliable and hard-working truck for operator and driver, whether they’re pounding smooth tarmac or mud-plugging across rutted construction sites. Springbridge have sampled its forefathers over many years now and we’re pleased that the lightweight but heavy-duty chassis is paying dividends already,” said Lumsdaine.

The burst of attention the industry press has devoted to Springbridge’s fleet investment activity is testimony of the growing prestige of our company and the recognition of our services.

In the meantime, our delivery team is excited to have such a quality fleet of trucks to ensure our deliveries continue to be made efficiently, no matter where we are asked to deliver to.
