Sand, shingle, and gravel all have many purposes around the garden and for landscaping or building projects. This variety of applications requires a variety of product, so Springbridge provides a range of shingle sizes and sand types.
Shingle and Ballast
Smaller-sized shingle is useful in gardens for brightening up dull areas with minimum fuss, while the larger variety of shingle is ideal for driveways. Consisting of a mix of sharp and round gravel washed and screened to produce a regular 10mm or 20mm size, our shingle bulk bags are perfect for most gardening and landscaping purposes.
Ballast is a mixture of sharp sand and rough shingle and is ideal for industrial or domestic applications such as fence posting and concrete paths.
Building Sand and Sharp Sand
Building sand is perfect for mixing in cement for pointing, paving or brick laying. It is also great as a paving slab base for patios and terraces or for pond liner beddings.
Sharp sand is coarser than building sand and has larger and more angular particles combined with fine rough sand. This makes sharp sand bulk bags ideal for all concreting applications as well as screeding and external rendering.
MOT Type 1 Gravel
For hard-standings and firm sub-bases such as those in roads, car parks and driveways, Springbridge also supplies MOT Type 1 gravel made from granite, limestone or crushed old concrete.
